EXPERTISE

The Engineering Disciplines Behind Every Press

Fine blanking sits at the intersection of five engineering disciplines. We organize our team around each of them, rather than treating press-building as a single generalist job — because a guiding-system specialist and a hydraulic-controls specialist solve genuinely different problems.

Structural

Press Design Engineering

Responsible for frame stiffness, guiding-system geometry and ram/slide kinematics. Frame designs are analyzed for deflection under rated load before a single casting is poured, since frame flex — not just guiding wear — is a common hidden source of shear-face inconsistency.

Tooling

Fine Blanking Die Design Engineering

Owns cutting-edge clearance, V-ring geometry, stripper and counter-pressure system design. This team works from the customer's part drawing forward, and from press capability backward, until the two meet at a validated process window.

Hydraulics & Controls

Hydraulic & Controls Engineering

Designs the closed-loop pressure control, PLC logic and HMI recipe systems that keep tonnage, counter-pressure and V-ring force within tolerance across a full production shift, not just at machine startup.

Field Service

Commissioning & Repair Engineering

Handles on-site installation, refurbishment and repair work — including on Feintool, Mori and other established press platforms — bringing diagnostic experience across multiple hydraulic and control architectures, not just our own machines.

Quality

Quality & Metrology Engineering

Runs incoming inspection, coordinate measurement of frame/slide geometry, and the load and precision testing behind every FAT report we issue.

Applications

Applications & DFM Support

The first technical contact for a new inquiry — reviews your part drawing for fine-blankability, recommends tonnage, and flags design changes that would improve process robustness before tooling starts.

How We Validate a Press Before It Ships

  • Frame and slide geometry verified by coordinate measurement against design tolerance, not visual inspection alone
  • Guiding-system parallelism checked with dial indicators across the full stroke, at rated load
  • Hydraulic circuit pressure-tested at full rated tonnage with a documented leak test
  • A full production trial run, using a customer or reference die, before the machine is crated
  • A written FAT report — the same document format regardless of which customer or region the press ships to

How the Team Stays Current

Fine blanking process knowledge moves slowly by industrial standards, but hydraulic controls, servo drive technology and PLC platforms do not. Our engineering team reviews component and control-platform updates from our hydraulic and servo suppliers on an ongoing basis, and each new press generation incorporates control-system improvements validated on prior builds before being standardized.

On the tooling side, die designs are refined using shear-face and burr-height data gathered during tryout on our own press fleet — meaning process parameters we recommend are grounded in trial data, not published averages alone.
