CASE STUDY · NEW INSTALLATION

Automotive Transmission Gear Plant — 400T Fine Blanking Line

A Tier 2 automotive supplier needed to bring transmission gear production in-house to shorten lead times and reduce reliance on outsourced fine blanked components.

The Challenge

The customer's transmission gears required a smooth, perpendicular shear face across a 4mm carbon steel section, with flatness tolerance too tight for their existing conventional stamping equipment to hold without secondary grinding.

The Solution

  • HF400 fine blanking press configured with servo coil feeding sized to a 4mm-thick, 350mm-wide coil
  • Fine blanking die designed in-house around the gear's tooth profile and hub coining feature
  • Vibratory deburring cell added downstream to meet the customer's edge-condition spec
  • On-site installation, commissioning and operator training over one week

The Result

The line eliminated the secondary grinding operation the customer had previously relied on, cutting per-part cycle time and bringing gear production fully in-house.
